Nashville S.C.

Logo Design

Taking Nashville’s amateur soccer team from the lowest tier of American soccer to highest level at Major League Soccer was no easy task. Nashville local Chris Jones, had a vision to create an supporter-owned soccer club after the Nashville Metros, the USL’s longest running soccer club, folded in 2012.

3 years after building a loyal following and having some hard conversations about the future of the club, 3 Nashville investors, David Dill, Marcus Whitney and Chris Redhage came in to give the club a boost and prepare them for life in the United Soccer League, or USL. With that came a name change from Nashville F.C. to Nashville S.C. and a new crest.

Exploration and Ideas Presented for the USL Crest Update

Keep in mind, all of this momentum was created through the supporters. I was fortunate to be in the mix as the city started to grow, and as a soccer renaissance was blossoming from within at local pubs. Supporters groups were popping up for different Premier League teams, and the culture and energy was perfect for growing a fledgling soccer cub into the Major League Soccer Club we know today.

As the USL team hit its stride, the city got behind the team and made a serious push to become the MSL expansion team in 2017.

I partnered with the Ingram-led ownership group to design the official application that was sent to Major League Soccer to be considered for this expansion slot. We worked in conjunction with city officials to show MLS what we already knew. Nashville is a soccer city.
